Physician Reimbursements
Since 2000, physician reimbursements from insurance carriers, whether in-network or out of network, have steadily dwindled. With reimbursements on the decline, getting paid what is allowed under an insurance policy becomes crucial.
Weitz Morgan has successfully sued and negotiated proper reimbursements with virtually every insurance provider in Texas. Our clientele includes surgeons, in home healthcare facilities, acupuncture clinics, and hospitals. And we have been successful in litigation against BCBSTX, Humana, United Healthcare, Tricare, and Aetna.
Whether you are in network and your fees are set by contract, or out of network where a Usual and Customary or Reasonable and Customary standard applies, we have extensive experience in collecting unpaid or underpaid provider claims.
Physician & Nursing Board Complaints
One of the most prevalent legal problems physicians and nurses encounter comes in the interaction with their respective regulatory boards. Issues can be as simple as a license renewal or advanced and serious as a complaint.
Most physicians and nurses never have to deal with the disciplinary section of the board. Thus, when a complaint comes in it is easy to feel at a loss as to how to proceed. Weitz Morgan has been representing physicians and nurses in contested complaint matters since 2008. We know the nuances of the system and can help negotiate an agreed order with the Board, or if necessary, fight the complaint through the State Office of Administrative Hearings.
Partner Mark A. Weitz is lead counsel on all healthcare regulatory and litigation matters. Should you need assistance in this area, please contact him directly at 512-657-1849 or at mweitz@weitzmorgan.com.
