Privity Explained and Its Impact in Government Contracting

With perfect timing, the episode recently released by the Government Contracting Officer Podcast was around privity of contract. Over the course of this month, privity has come up a lot in my articles, so what better way to end the month than with an overview of the concept.

More than that, though, the episode does a great job of explaining real-life scenarios, beyond those that arise in contract disputes, of how impactful understanding and recognizing privity is. They talk about how to handle situations when the government is dealing with primes and subs, prime contractor responsibility and past performance, and triggering an unauthorized commitment.
