Civil Litigation
Legal problems and litigation are a reality of modern business. Large companies and corporations are able to devote a portion of their revenue to dealing with these problems with in-house legal staffs and by retaining large law firms. As such, we have devoted our litigation practice to representing small and medium sized businesses as well as individuals. We have handled a variety of civil cases from personal injury to breach of contract to insurance to commercial litigation to medical malpractice defense. In addition, we also represent parties with constitutional Equal Protection and Due Process claims and False Claims Act (fraud against the government) cases.

Appeals
In addition to assisting individuals and businesses in all types of civil litigation, our attorneys also have experience representing clients at the appellate level. Our appellate practice focuses on representing parties in both federal and state appellate courts, drafting briefs, and preparing and delivering oral arguments. We also work as co-counsel with our attorney colleagues consulting and/or collaborating on appellate strategy, briefs, and oral argument.
Property Tax Appeals
Weitz Morgan also assists both residential and business owners to appeal property tax determinations made by the Travis County Central Appraisal District. In addition, we work with attorneys in other areas of the state in the contest and appeal of adverse tax appraisals.
Property tax valuations represent one of the most direct ways in which the government affects ordinary citizens. Local government, including local school districts, depends heavily on property tax revenue. While the services provided by local government and school districts are important, it is equally important that a person's or business's real estate not be overly burdened. Property taxes significantly increase one's mortgage payment and depending on one's situation, taxes could make continued ownership prohibitive.
